I read this earlier, but wasn't able to get my comment to post. A fine piece, Ellen, and I send my sympathies for your losses. It is so hard to deal with parent loss, I know. My dad's been gone for more than 20 years, after a sudden heart attack. I miss him every day and feel sad that he wasn't able to see his grandson graduate from college, get married, and so on. I am grateful for all the moments I've had with my folks ... but still. Wishing you comfort.
